Language Proficiency Tests Accepted in the Netherlands

The accepted English language proficiency test in the Netherlands includes IELTS Academic, TOEFL and Cambridge English exams. If you are applying for a Dutch taught-programme, you would need to demonstrate proficiency in Dutch through the Staatsexamen Nederlands als Tweede Taal (NT2-II) and CVaNT tests. Obtaining a Netherlands Student Visa

The first step to obtaining a student visa is being accepted into a Dutch university recognised by the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). The institution will apply for your residence permit and an MVV (Long-Stay Visa).

Though application requirement may vary by country, some key documents include: a valid passport, official acceptance letter from a Dutch university, payment of visa application fee, completed and signed MVV application form, proof of financial, travel and health insurance, birth certificate, academic transcripts, statement of purpose/details of study plan, proof of language proficiency, passport photographs, biometric information, and a TB test (if necessary)
